COMPARISON OF SURGERY-RELATED KNOWLEDGE LEVELS BETWEEN PATIENT GROUPS WITH AND WITHOUT EXPERIENCE OF IMPACTED TOOTH EXTRACTION

Purpose: Comparison of the knowledge levels patients in different demographic groups with and without impacted third molar experience. The authors' expectation was that experienced would have a higher level knowledge. Materials Methods: Sixty-five (34 experienced, 31 inexperienced) extraction indication were included study. A questionnaire 23 questions concerning operative phases where could write down their own administered before surgeries. Demographic data (gender, age group educational status) also noted. Results: Questionnaire success did not show significant difference between experience tooth (p>0.05). Conclusion: Dental surgeons should do best to provide written verbal information surgical procedures, each patient be evaluated as first-time patient, regardless past experiences. It neglected detailed process.
